More and more strange drill sites made by the IO are appearing on the Fortnite map. But we can use their secret computer terminals to track down enemies and crates nearby. Here's how!

The IO is back and this time they have sent their drilling teams to the island to scout it out and uncover the island's deep untold mysteries! Okay, we made up that last part because, literally, no one understands the Fortnite lore not even Epic Games.

After being almost wiped out by the Seven when the island toppled over, they are now using giant drills to regain access to their underground bunkers. To do this, of course, they are equipped with the latest technology to spy on the island's inhabitants. For one of the Fortnite challenges, you'll have to use this very technology and interact with one of their computer terminals. But these have a secret function and let you track down enemy opponents, animals and crates on the Fortnite map. Here come the details.

Fortnite Drill Site Locations

There are currently three Fortnite drill locations in Fortnite, however, we are sure that more will appear on the map as the Season progresses. These are located in the following locations:

  • Drill Team Omega: This team is located in the snowy valley east of Logjam Lumberyard.
  • Drill Team Dash: Just north of the Daily Bugle and east of Sleepy Sound.
  • Drill Team Ryder: Southeast of Greasy Grove by a river on the edge of the desert biome.

How to Interact with a Computer Terminal and What Does it Do?

To interact with a computer terminal at a drill site, you must first go to the tent-covered area near the drill. Inside this tent, near a chest and a stack of crates, is the computer terminal you need to interact with to complete this weekly challenge.

The cool thing is, as soon as you use the terminal, all enemies and chests in the area will also be marked for a short time on your map, so it's also worth using this tactical option during a regular game. As always, you should take out the patrolling IO guards first before attempting this task, as they will definitely shoot at you for touching their delicate mining equipment.

This new feature is similar to the Flare Gun that is currently in the item pool for Chapter 3, Season 1, but it is more practical since it doesn't take up a weapon slot in your loadout and still helps you spot enemies nearby. Especially if more of these terminals appear on the map, it will be helpful to uncover campers before they ambush you.

And of course, completing the challenge will once again earn you 25,000 tasty XP for your Battle Pass.
