Warzone 2 continues a lot of what Warzone 1 did before. So it might be strange that some players are still wondering if Warzone 2 supports crossplay, but don't you worry, we are here to help. So what's the answer? Here's what you need to know.
Does Warzone 2 Support Crossplay?
Yes, Warzone 2 has crossplay and cross-platform support, just like OG Warzone. Warzone has always – since its release on March 10, 2020 – been cross-platform and had crossplay. In more detail, this means PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 can all play Warzone 2 together. There is also cross-progression, which means that your progress in the game will be carried over if you switch from PC to console, or vice-versa.
How To Disable Crossplay in Warzone 2
If you don't want to play crossplay, you can disable it in the menu at any time. This is only available on PlayStation and Xbox, though, with PC players unfortunately being unable to activate/deactivate this option. Since cheaters are particularly active on PC, it can make sense for console players to deactivate crossplay. This does, however, also mean that you will no longer be able to play with your buddies on Xbox or PC.
How To Deactivate Crossplay on PlayStation
- Go to Settings
- Go to the “Account & Network” tab
- Set “Crossplay” to “Disabled”
How To Deactivate Crossplay on Xbox
On Xbox, you can't deactivate crossplay in the in-game settings. You have to do it in the console setting instead:
- Go to General Settings on your Xbox
- Click "Online safety and family"
- Go into "Privacy and Online Safety"
- Select "Xbox Privacy"
- Go into "View Details and Customize"
- Click "Communication and Multiplayer"
- Select "Cross-network play"
- Toggle it on or off
Warzone 2: How To Add A Player From Another Platform
If you want to play with a friend on another platform, you have to add him to your friends list with his Activision ID. On PC, friends can also be added via their Battle.net or Steam ID, but if you want to add an Xbox or PlayStation player, it must be the Activision ID.
- Go to "Social" in the menu
- Select "Invite Friends"
- Select "Enter Activision Account to Invite"
- Enter your friend's Activision ID (e.g. PlayerName #1234567) and send the invitation
