With LoL Patch 13.8, the next League of Legends Patch is going to be releasing soon. But will update 13.8 be another pro-skewed patch, or is Riot going to be focusing on solo queue this time around? Here are the early patch notes for the upcoming LoL update.
Last League of Legends patch, Riot took some time to nerf a lot of prominent junglers that have been part of the professional League of Legends scene for a while now. What are they going to look into changing in LoL Patch 13.8 though?
It's time to look ahead at the next buffs and nerfs on the Public Beta Environment and what awaits us in League of Legends Patch 13.8 – please Riot buff Aphelios...
LoL Patch 13.8: All Buffs & Nerfs
While there are no concrete buffs and nerfs on the PBE server just yet, we do hope that Riot will look at some of the struggling champions ahead of the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational. With so many jungle nerfs, we would hope to have some other junglers buffed as well.
Cosmic Drive Changes
Cosmic Drive has been a pretty good item on some champions, while some have no way to proc it, which is why Riot is going to be making some adjustments in the coming patch.
Cosmic Drive
- Ability Power: 90 --> 100
- [NEW] Unique Passive - Spelldance: Damaging a champion (excluding damage over time) generates a stack of 2.5% Movement Speed every 1.5 seconds for the next 5 seconds up to 4 stacks (10% Movement Speed). At 4 stacks, gain an additional 10% Movement Speed (20% Movement Speed total). Dealing damage refreshes this effect.
For cosmic drive, it's statistically powerful on some Champs, but feels bad to dump all of your spells to get the AP boost, now that all your spells are on CD.

This change keeps the pattern about sustained combat without sequencing drawbacks and broadens the audience
Champion Buffs
This patch is going to have a multitude of champion buffs. With this being the MSI 2023 patch, Riot wants to make the meta as diverse as possible since teams will be competing on this patch for a month.

Riot Celebrating Release Of Mageseeker in LoL Patch 13.8
Riot Forge is also releasing a brand-new game with Digital Sun: The Mageseeker. They'll be heading up north to Demacia to tell the story of Sylas and the Mage revolution. You can already read the sequel in a webcomic, which will let you dive deeper into the lore of League of Legends.
Players can also get some goodies in this patch, with some icons related to the game being made available. These icons are in the pixelated style of the game and feature key champions from the game like Sylas, Morgana and Garen.
LoL Patch 13.8: Mythic Content
Players are also going to be getting some new content in the mythic shop. This time around we will be getting a new mythic chroma for Riven. She has an iconic Dawnbringer skin and will now be getting a mythic chroma, which already looks much darker and more like a Nightbringer skin.

LoL Skins in Patch 13.8: New Dawnbringer and Nightbringer Skins
Of course, we are also going to be getting some brand-new skins. The upcoming mythic chroma just mentioned, could have something to do with the new skins Riot is adding to the list, with four new Dawnbringer and Nightbringer skins.
- Nightbringer Nasus
- Nightbringer Jarvan IV
- Dawnbringer Renekton
- Dawnbringer Vayne
These four skins will join the huge cast of the already exisitng Danwbringer and Nightbringer skins and while some fans think that these are "filler skins" before the release of the Inkshadow skins, we still think they look pretty cool.
When Does LoL Patch 13.8 Release?
This patch is going to release on April 19, 2023. The skins and mythic chroma will only be available on April 20, 2023 thought. This is perfect timing though, with Riot Forge's Mageseeker releasing on April 18, 2023 just a day before the patch, meaning we could get some more cool in-game goodies as well.
It could also mean that champions like Sylas, Morgana and Lux could be free to play, since that was something Riot did during the release of the Ruined King game.
