The Witcher Season 4 Will Switch Main Characters & We're Not Talking About Henry Cavill

Having to say our goodbyes to Henry Cavill for The Witcher season 4 is rough, but now it looks like we will be seeing less Geralt overall. However, Netflix changing the main character might not be so bad, if we don't have to see him all that often

Even ahead of production, The Witcher Season 4 is facing its fair share of problems. Not only are they struggling to sell fans on Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, they will also have to deal with the story now shifting towards a different main character altogether.

Looking at the books for reference, we can speculate on the season's direction. Recasting Geralt of Rivia might not be that bad if we don't have to watch him all that much.

If we take a look at the books, we pretty much know where the show is headed story wise. The recasting of Geralt of Rivia might not be all that important if he turns into a side character. Although with this, Liam Hemsworth will have less of a chance to convince fans that he is a good replacement for Henry Cavill.

The Witcher Season 4 Will Focus On A Different Main Character

The main character switch we're talking about isn't at all related to the whole Hemsworth-Cavill-situation. Season 4 will have a switch of perspective as Ciri (Freya Allan) now takes center stage, according to executive producer Tomek Baginski.

It's like the books intended: season 3 has been an adaptation of Time of Contempt (and frankly did a better job with that than the previous seasons), meaning that Baptism of Fire is next on the list. And that's where it's really Ciri's time to shine.

Freya Allan has proven in season 3's volume 2 that she's more than capable to captivate audiences, and her performance as Ciri has come a really long way. By meeting The Rats in the season 3 finale, she was greatly set up as the new main character.

While fans still struggle a bit with Cavill's departure, but maybe the aspect of having an epic adventure with Ciri and her Rats will dull the pain.

Wind's howling, you say? That's the least of our problems with video games.
