The CEO of Activision just revealed some unexpected news about Nintendo's next console during the Microsoft FTC trial. The next Nintendo console (presumably the Switch 2) will apparently have about the same computing power as a PS4 or Xbox One, which makes the platform simply unfeasible for CoD.
As everyone knows, the Switch is less powerful than its Xbox and PlayStation counterparts from the last generation. And that's fine, the Switch still has amazing games. But most fans were probably expecting the Switch 2 to be able to rise above this level (the PS4 and Xbox One were released 10 years ago, after all). Sadly, at least according to Bobby Kotick, that won't be the case.

The CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, recently revealed that the next Nintendo console will be about as powerful as the PS4/Xbox One. This was during the Microsoft FTC trial, when the topic of whether Call of Duty could even run on Nintendo consoles was brought up.
Kotick made it clear that Activision would love to be able to ship Call of Duty to more platforms, but it simply isn't feasible given how demanding modern AAA games have become.
Of course, Nintendo fans are going to keep getting Nintendo consoles for the games and not the performance, so it's something of a moot point. But it's nevertheless underwhelming to hear, especially when you consider that the latest handhelds like the ASUS ROG Ally have already surpassed the PS4/Xbox One in terms of raw computing power.
