Good news for all Tomb Raider fans: the next part of the series looks set to be released earlier than expected. The story of Lara Croft could soon be continued, as has been reported by a known insider.
The release of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the latest game in the legendary franchise, already happened 4 years ago. So, it isn't surprising that there will be a new title sooner rather than later. We already know that this new game is in development, it's just unclear when it will be released.
It was generally assumed that the game will take its time. But it now actually looks like the next Tomb Raider could come sooner than we expected, as a known insider revealed some new details on the title.
New Tomb Raider Could Be Revealed This Year
This news is based on info from leaker and reporter Miller Ross from exputer. According to Ross, the development is further advanced than we knew so far and the game could be revealed this year. It would make sense that the development studio Crystal Dynamics now has more time and can develop the game faster. After all, they stopped the service for Marvel's Avengers.
It is therefore likely that more resources can be used for the new Tomb Raider and that we can soon look forward to the continuation of Lara Croft's story. He further explained some of the details of his story on ResetEra:

Tomb Raider has actually been in development for a lot longer than people know, though it did restart when they shifted from Foundation to UE5. It's been in the cards for a while now.
I would indeed expect at least a year between them.
Miller is a trusted source in the community, who has accurately revealed info on Crystal Dynamics before. So we can trust him when he says, that there will be at least a year between the releases of Perfect Dark, which Crystal Dynamics is also working on and Tomb Raider.
He assumes that Perfect Dark will be released in 2025 and that would mean that the next Tomb Raider would be released in 2024.
According to a newer Tweet by Okami Games the game might be launched sooner than we think. With a Lara Croft skin for Call of Duty announced out of nowhere and the official Tomb Raider website updated on August 18. it is likely to be released in the foreseeable future. These two aspects let us hope to learn more about the new Tomb Raider and possibly get a set release date at the incoming Gamescom. We'll keep you updated.
First Look At Lara Croft Model In New Tomb Raider Revealed

Needless to say, these images caused heated debate within the Tomb Raider community. Some want Lara to be even more beautiful and buxom, and some say she already looks fantastic here. But no matter what the fans argue about, this seems to be the confirmed look for Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider.
What We Already Know About The Next Tomb Raider
Unfortunately, we don't know much yet, but that could change quickly, probably around the Gamescom. What we do know is that Crystal Dynamics will be working with Amazon Games for the new Tomb Raider. Amazon Games is supposed to support the game and publish it globally.

We also know that the Unreal Engine 5 will serve as the graphics engine. Furthermore, the story of Lara Croft will be continued. Not a remake or reboot, thankfully. We think that's pretty cool and hope it will be at the same level as the most recent games.
