Exciting news for fans of Ultimate Fighting, who are eager to step into the virtual octagon and experience being mixed martial arts champions themselves. UFC 5 is coming.
UFC 4 was released way back in August 2020, and there has been a considerable wait for any updates on UFC 5. However, EA have now officially revealed the game, and so we have the release date, price and edition info for you.
UFC 5 Release Date
UFC 5 will be released on October 27 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (with the Digital Deluxe you can play from October 24 thanks to 3-day Early Access). So we don't have much waiting left until we can finally get our hands on UFC 5.
Hopefully, EA Sports has learned from their past mistakes and will ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience right from the launch of UFC 5. In the previous game, there were numerous advertisements that had to be removed post-release in order to improve the overall gameplay experience.

Will UFC 5 Be Part Of Xbox Game Pass?
UFC 5 is not coming to Game Pass on release, however we are hopeful for the future. After all, Electronic Arts eventually launched UFC 4 onto the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate . As such, one would expect that the 5th installment of this franchise will release onto the Xbox Game Pass as well one day.
Dedicated players will be required to purchase this game for day-one accessibility.
UFC 5: Gameplay, Story, And Everything Else We Know So Far
Details regarding the internal development of UFC 5 have been scarce. Despite that, we’ve learned of various fighters and locations that will be included in this upcoming game. For instance, UFC Las Vegas & UFC Fight Island will be developed into the 5th installment of this franchise. An assortment of well-known fighters like Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor will also be included in this MMA simulator. You’ll also be capable of playing as these champion-winning fighters:
- Jon Jones
- Max Holloway
- Amanda Nunes
- Kamaru Usman
- Israel Adesanya
- Alexander Volkanovski
- Valentina Schevchenko
- Khabib Nurmagomedov
You can expect EA Vancouver to include a multitude of additional fighters. But remember, you’ll also have the opportunity to develop your character in the career mode. This character can become more vital than championship-winning fighters like Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, this requires significant patience and talent from players. The UFC franchise has continually focused on realistic combat; typically, mastering this combat isn’t easy.
You’ll practice these combat techniques across an assortment of different locations. We expect that the following areas will return in UFC 5, however this is just speculation on our part:
- TD Garden – Boston
- UFC Apex – Las Vegas
- Pearl Theater – Las Vegas
- State Farm Arena – Atlanta
- UFC Fight Island – Yas Island
- MGM Grand Garden Arena – Las Vegas
- Madison Square Garden – New York City
Could you imagine Max Holloway and Israel Adesanya fighting against each other at Madison Square Garden in NYC? We can, as it’ll be an incredible experience on UFC 5!
