EA Sports has announced the introduction of a "Packs For You" section in EA FC 24 Ultimate Team. What was once a loyalty reward for playing the game has now turned into yet another pay-to-win move. One comment sums up EA's strategy perfectly: shameless.
EA Sports is known for constantly finding new ways and means to make as much money as possible with their financial flagship, Ultimate Team in FIFA – now known as EA Sports FC.
Now, the Canadian developers have completely outdone themselves. In a post on X, the developers announce the introduction of a section called "Packs For You", where diligent players will be rewarded with packs that are only available after a certain number of active logins have been made.
The catch is that what the community knows as Loyalty Packs are no longer free.
EA Brings Back Loyalty Packs To FC 24 – And Wants Real Money Or In-Game Currency
Yes, you read that right. Those who play a lot will be generously given the opportunity to BUY special packs. Not receive. You still have to invest your hard-earned Coins (in-game currency) or UT Points (real money) to access the contents of the packs.
We say it like it is: The game has become an absolute rip-off and absolutely does not deserve to continue to dominate as the market leader among football games.
Once again, EA Sports' post has been corrected and clarified by the community notes on X. Not for the first time in the last few weeks. Because the post knowingly omits that these packs cost money.
Starting today, you may notice a new "Packs For You" section in the #FC24 Ultimate Team Store.

This new section will include packs that are specific to your Ultimate Team journey, based on common factors, like playing Ultimate Team for a certain number of days.

Seriously, how can the community still tolerate this concept? It looks like the tide is slowly shifting and fans are getting more and more upset:
You're amazing! I'm so glad I reached this milestone, and all I need to do is spend another $20 for my very own loyalty pack. Wow. You're the best company ever, thank you pic.twitter.com/cyFp51T1R2

Even FUTBIN commented under this post, sharing the same opinion as us:
Use this as a "Loyalty Packs should be free" button

The developments of the last few years can be perfectly summarized with this simple description:

Time To Say Goodbye To EA And Stop Playing Ultimate Team
To put it mildly, it's an absolute disgrace. The appropriate statement about perhaps the greediest company in the world comes from streamer AA9skillz – and we could not agree more.
It's a shame what EA has done and continues to do to what was probably the best Ultimate Team mode in any sports game.
.@aa9skillz WENT OFF with this rant and I agree with every single thing he said pic.twitter.com/EEzVTWQhnS

Anyone who continues to play UT is simply supporting a casino-like gambling system that is solely focused on maximum profit.
It's really time for 2K and FIFA to release a competing product that at least tries to put EA in their place.
