In the colorful world of Lego Fortnite, players can expect not only exciting building adventures but also a variety of fascinating animals that drop important resources, needed for cooking recipes and other items.
Having a farm is useful to avoid constantly searching for these animals. Therefore, in this article, we show you the easiest way to tame and capture animals in Lego Fortnite.
How to Tame Animals in Lego Fortnite
As mentioned earlier, each friendly animal provides unique resources such as food and wool. Additionally, they occasionally produce fertilizer, which you need to start a farm, as a farm field costs 2x soil and 1x fertilizer.
However, we must say right from the start that animals cannot be tamed as easily as in, for example, Minecraft. While you can lure animals with their favorite food and thus confine them, they do not directly "tame."
Nevertheless, it's important to know which food each animal prefers, so here is a list of all animals, their preferred food, their petting and feeding drop, kill drop, and where to find them:

To tame or capture them, follow these steps:
- Build a stable or enclosure high enough so that the animals cannot jump over, but leave a gap for the animals to pass through
- Find an animal you want to capture
- Open your inventory
- Highlight the stack of the animal's preferred food
- Press "More Actions"
- Select "Drop"
- Press the right D-pad to select only one item in the stack
- Select "Drop" again
You can also drag the food from your inventory if you are playing on PC.
If you drop the respective food on the ground, the animals should now sniff it out and walk towards where it lies. You know they are interested when a few question marks appear around their head.
Repeat this procedure every few meters until you have lured it into the enclosure. Once inside, quickly build up the remaining gap, and you have captured your animal.
Now you can pet or feed it anytime to access your resources. Animal breeding in Lego Fortnite is not possible as of now, but it may be added in a future update.
