League of Legends: Rekkles Makes His Debut With T1 Challengers

In late 2023 it was revealed that former Fnatic League of Legends bot laner Martin "Rekkles" Larsson would join T1. Of course he wasn't there to replace Keria, instead he would be joining their Challengers team.

T1 is the most well-known League of Legends team in the world, thanks to their huge success on the domestic and international stage. The team also has an insane academy system for young new talent and a good Challengers roster.

For the 2024 season the team did make a choice though that had some players and fans a bit confused and that was signing veteran bot laner Rekkles as their T1 Challenger support.

Rekkles, who has played most of his career in the EULCS and LEC has made the switch to a whole new region, deciding to play a new role in a new league. Ahead of the 2024 season, he signed with T1 to play on their Challenger team as the support.

What Is LCK CL?

The LCK Challengers League is the secondary professional LoL league in South Korea. It serves as a developmental platform for up-and-coming players, akin to a minor league. Teams in this league are typically affiliated with the main LCK teams, offering a pathway for new talent to progress to the top-tier LCK.

On January 16, 2024 Rekkles took the stage for the first time with his young teammates to take on the Challengers squad of the Kwangdong Freecs.

The first game in the best-of-three went in T1's favor with Rekkles on Senna, a champion he is all too familiar with thanks to his time as an ADC. He even managed to secure himself the MVP votes of the match.

While the second game of the series went in KDF's favor, Rekkles did play well and showed off his Rakan, but due to some in-game mistakes, T1 could not close out the match.

The third game was a close one with t1 managing to gain leads through fights, while KDF had much better macro play, leading them to take the game 2-1 in the end.

While Rekkles debut in the LCK CL did not end in a win, he did play well alongside his teammates, with Poby, the team's mid laner playing out of his mind on Neeko.

T1 Challengers will play their next game on January 19 against DPlus KIA's Challenegrs roster.
