Non-MainStreamer of the Year: EarlyGame Awards In Favor Of Laureus Sport for Good 2024 Powered By Memory PC

What a crazy year – not just for us at EarlyGame, but also for some streamers who rocked the past months and stayed true to their unique styles. Choosing the nominees was challenging. We had a hard time narrowing down the pool, but tough decisions need to be made.

The creators who made it to the shortlist are the ones who didn't let the mainstream influence them, staying true to themselves no matter how niche their category might be. And for that, they were rewarded with a loyal and strong community.

Before we celebrate our nominees, just a quick reminder: the awards are not just for our and your entertainment, but primarily for a good cause. A good deed every day, so don't hesitate to donate to Laureus Sport for Good Germany – and don't worry, every donated euro goes directly to them.

Non-MainStreamer Of The Year 2024 – Criteria

We determined the nominees quite randomly – as with every year, a lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into the selection. And maybe a little bit of thought too.

These considerations are as follows and represent the criteria for selecting the candidates:

• Plays a less popular game

We love people who fall in love with games that aren't on everyone's radar. If someone can bring attention to hidden gems and has fun doing it, that's pretty cool.

• Strong community

The more fans, and the cooler the vibe in the community, the better. Gathering a close-knit group earns some major points with us.

• Good year in 2023

We also look at the past year. If someone rocked in 2023, whether through big projects, more followers, or just good vibes, that's definitely a reason to shine a spotlight on them.

Enough preamble – here are the nominees, and you decide who takes the trophy home! The big show happens on February 25, 2024, at exactly 8 PM CET, so vote away!

Non-MainStreamer Of The Year 2024 – The Nominees

Here are the nominees for Non-MainStreamer of the Year Award.

KnebelTV

KnebelTV has been active since 2016, regularly streaming "Star Citizen" to an average of over 2,573 viewers. He streams on Twitch four times a week and entertains over 30,000 followers on YouTube with Let's Plays, Gaming News, and more.

KnebelTV is a star in the "Star Citizen" community and deserves a spot on our list of nominated Non-MainStreamers of the Year.

Dennsen86

Dennsen86 is a well-known German Twitch streamer in the world of retro gaming. With "Super Mario World," he attracts an average of 1215 viewers. Dennsen plays a variety of old school and modern Nintendo games, including not only "Super Mario World" but also "Super Mario Maker," "Mario Kart," and "Zelda: A Link to the Past."

With his passion for retro gaming, he has reached over 77,000 people on Twitch and has been a welcomed guest at Speedrundale der Rocketbeans since 2018. Therefore, Dennsen is officially nominated for the EarlyGame Non-MainStreamer Awards.

DirkNeuenfels

Of course, we must also honor the musical talents out there. DirkNeuenfels has been around since June 2016, creating entertaining DJ streams with his audience.

In his streams, the chat controls the music and decides what happens. Such community engagement must not be missing from our list of nominees.

Back2Warcraft

Back2Warcraft is an entertainment genius and indispensable from the competitive Warcraft III scene.

For 15 years, he has been active as a Warcraft commentator and has amassed 118,842 followers on Twitch. His love for this classic game and his long-standing role as a commentator since 2008 inspired us to nominate him for this category.

H0llyLP

H0llyLP is probably the dinosaur among the nominees, as he is by far the longest-standing streamer. He's been on Twitch since 2012, just a year after the platform went online.

Holly simply plays what he enjoys at the moment, not following the mainstream. With the indie title "The Binding of Isaac" alone, he has spent 1,494 hours on stream.

edopeh

Edopeh is known for never backing down from a challenge. In his streams and YouTube videos, he takes on the most difficult hardcore challenges and is supported by a strong community of 30,590 Twitch followers. He has spent a lot of time with the Sci-Fi colony simulator Rimworld.

In addition to the hardcore challenges and his entertaining content, edopeh achieved something else in 2023. Together with "Kaaaay," he organized a 70 Days Charity Stream Challenge and raised funds for "Die Arche: Mittagstisch für bedürftige Kinder" (Lunch for Needy Children).

insanedra

Insanedra is known for her relaxed and soothing streams. She mostly plays Sims 4, and it's just pleasant to listen to her. With an average of 388 viewers, she is one of the smallest streamers among the nominees, but that's by no means a disadvantage.

Her streams are very personal, down-to-earth, relaxing, and yet always entertaining. Anyone who streams with so much passion deserves recognition, so we also nominate her as Non-MainStreamer of the Year.

chessgenie

Chessgenie is a hidden gem among strategy gamers. Judging by his name, you might think it's all about playing chess... Wrong.

Although he streamed about 336 hours of chess, his focus actually lies elsewhere. Namely, on the Free-to-Play team shooter "World of Tanks," which he streamed for a solid 11,233 hours (that's a robust 468 days).

Schwabbeltown

Schwabbeltown is a horror gamer through and through. On his channel, he offers all kinds of horror games, such as Phasmophobia, Welcome to the Game II, or Dead by Daylight. He has even streamed the latter for 6227 hours... With his crazy and fun style, he entertains his 45k-strong community four days a week with spooky content.

Moerp

Moerp has a special preference for strategy and role-playing games. He has been streaming on Twitch since 2014 and plays a huge selection of games, including Total War games, Stellaris, Crusader Kings 3, and World of Tanks. His game selection is truly anything but mainstream, Moerp just plays what he and his community enjoy, and that's just awesome.
