Stormsurge might be one of the strongest item additions for mages in Season 14, granting you tons of bonus damage with its Passive. Compared with other new burst oriented items like Caster's Companion, you'll become a serious thread, deleting everyone the crossed your path.

LoL: Stormsurge – Stats And Build
With a total of 2,900 gold, Stormsurge is a legendary item, which will grant you useful stats, such as Ability Power, Magic Penetration and Movement Speed. On top of that, it got 2 Passives: Stormraider and Squall. Stormraider gives you 25% Bonus Movement Speed for a short duration if you deal 35% damage to a champion's max Health within 2.5 seconds. If you do so, Squall also triggers, striking the target with an additional 75-150 (Melee+30%/Ranged+22.5% AP) Magic Damage and additionally grants you 30 gold.
To build Stormsurge, you'll need the following items:
- Hextech Alternator (items + 300 gold)
- Amplifying Tome (400 gold)
- Amplifying Tome (400 gold)
- Aether Wisp (item + 450 gold)
- Amplifying Tome (400 gold)
- 950 gold
Best Champions With Stormsurge
With the bonus AP damage through Stormsurge's Passive Squall, burst mages, as well as AP assassins work incredibly well with it, absolutely deleting their opponents off guard and unexpected.
