Mid Lane Tier List For LoL Patch 14.4: These Are The Best Mid Laners
These are our top three picks in the mid lane in patch 14.4:
3. Twisted Fate
The Card Master
Let's get one thing out of the way before we start: Twisted Fate's kit is very simple to understand, but that doesn't automatically mean that he is super easy to play. You have to master the macro game of LoL so that you always know exactly where an ultimate to your team is necessary or whether you should stay on the side lane and push.
Twisted Fate's R – Destiny is probably one of the strongest abilities in the entire game, especially in Solo Queue, since you can profit off the chaos in lower Elos. The chance to help your team at basically every fight usually comes unexpected for many opponents, allowing you to create a temporary advantage for your team! Next to that, your stun card is also super powerful, since it almost guarantees a kill in later game stats.
There are also two other aspects that explain why Twisted Fate is so popular right now: Firstly, the previous Lich Bane buff. Twisted Fate loves this item and after the changes, it is actually quite strong again! On the other hand, of course, AD TF has also been buffed, which leads to really weird item builds. If you're unsure what to build on him, look at what pro players are building rather than cooking up something by yourself.
2. Karma
The Enlightened One
Karma has become a quite regular guest on the mid lane nowadays and especially thanks to Malignance!
Karma, and our first place pick, are probably the best champions to build this item on, which really shows the true power it holds. Malignance was just recently nerfed, due to Karma dominating the mid lane. However, Riot didn’t like how weak Malignance became and buffed it once again, but with more Ability Hast instead of giving it back it's old damage.
Will Karma be able to take on this champ?
Next to her really strong item options, Karma is just all in all a really solid pick in the mid lane. She offers a bunch of utility to her team, while also dealing crazy amounts of damage for a former support champion. Karma's lane can be played either super safe or quite aggressive, leaving no room for actual counter picks.
You should most definitely pick up Karma if you are looking for an easy mid laner to play!
1. Kassadin
The Void Walker
There he is, the ultimate Malignance abuser, Kassadin! As mentioned, Kassadin is our top pick for patch 14.4 due to all the small buffs his items just received.
Kassadin is finally back to his former glory, and you should really be scared of him right now. In order to win against a Kassadin, you have to punish him early on or else he will scale into infinity. Once fed, this void walker will take over the entire game in seconds, leaving no room to win team fights or duels.
Playing as Kassadin can prove to be difficult, especially pre level six. If you got stuck in a bad match-up, keep a clear head and focus on farming and gain as much gold as you possible can.
Mid Lane Tier List: These Are The Best Mid Laners In LoL Patch 14.4
Now that we have looked at the S-Tier of LoL Patch 14.4, it's about time that we check out where some of your other favorite champions are. Which of these picks is your main?
Who Are Our A-Tier Mid Laners?
The A-Tier is still considered excellent. These are champions that you can easily pick and still win games. They're the ones you'll want to choose when the S-Tier are banned. So if you want to climb solo queue, then these are some picks you'll want to pick up this patch.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Aurelion | 51.85% | 3.46% |
Naafiri | 52.47% | 1.77% |
Taliyah | 50.83% | 3.76% |
Anivia | 50.54% | 2.45% |
Brand | 54.87% | 0.65% |
Swain | 50.00% | 0.86% |
Cassiopeia | 54.13% | 1.55% |
Vladimir | 49.74% | 2.43% |
Akshan | 49.97% | 3.13% |
Qiyana | 53.76% | 3.18% |
Fizz | 50.78% | 2.88% |
Diana | 45.38% | 2.03% |
Galio | 50.82% | 3.01% |
Xerath | 51.14% | 2.44% |
Neeko | 48.86% | 2.16% |
Lissandra | 49.51% | 2.43% |
Tristana | 53.51% | 2.45% |
After being in the top three last patch, Neeko is now still around in the A-tier. The main reason why she got pushed out of the top, are her items. After Stormsurge got nerfed quite a bit in the last patch, she isn’t as broken as she used to be, however she is still an amazing flex pick, especially if you know how to bamboozle your enemies! It's still super worth to pick her up, since she has been in and out of the top three over and over again.
Someone you should definitely be careful about is Cassio! She, just like Kassadin, loves all the small item changed done to Rod of Ages and Seraph's Embrace.
Who Are Our B-Tier Mid Laners?
The B-Tier consists of champions that are good, but won't have as much strength as either the A or S Tier — obviously. These are picks you can pick in specific match ups, but we suggest making sure you master the champion before choosing them.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Lux | 49.12% | 2.18% |
Annie | 53.64% | 1.38% |
Akali | 47.52% | 7.35% |
Sylas | 49.69% | 9.34% |
Talon | 49.46% | 3.20% |
Vex | 48.04% | 1.89% |
Irelia | 50.38% | 4.27% |
Ahri | 53.03% | 9.05% |
Zed | 49.37% | 6.89% |
Seraphine | 50.67% | 1.77% |
Hwei | 46.38% | 9.69% |
Katarina | 49.83% | 6.73% |
Ekko | 53.49% | 2.79% |
Le Blanc | 47.22% | 4.24% |
Malzahar | 50.28% | 1.88% |
You need something easy and effective? — How about you try out Annie! She is one of the most simple, yet efficient mid laners you could ever pick, with huge one shot potential in the mid and early game.
Who Are Our F-Tier Mid Laners?
These are the picks we advise you to forget about this patch. Either their win rates are abysmal or they were nerfed in the patch. So make sure to avoid picking these champions at all costs… unless you really don't care for your LP and just want to play the one champion you main.
Champion | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
Zilean | 49.31% | 0.26% |
Pyke | 46.98% | 0.22% |
Gangplank | 50.09% | 0.93% |
Ezreal | 47.62% | 0.57% |
Don't pick any of these champs if you want to keep your precious and hard-earned LP.
If you are a mage player, this is definitely another patch for you to shine or even pick up some new champions as well! And watch out for the extra minion in your enemy's waves when playing against Neeko!
